Lyrical Collage

For my Lyrical Collage I was inspired to use an Italian scenery based on my favorite photo from vacation when I stayed at the Italian Village and Turks and Caicos.  I wanted the image to have a warm color tone to look like a sunset.  I used the lyrics from Weezer's An Island in the Sun and wanted the image to match the mood of the lyrics.  I used multiple tools to make this image but I mainly used the quick selection tool, blender tool, clone tool, the lasso tools, and filters. I changed the coloring of each photo to match each other and made sure the lighting and shadows matched up throughout the image.

My Custom Graphic

For my custom graphic I decided to create a forest scene.  I drew the tree trunks with the brush tool using different shades of brown to add details.  After I used the blur tool to blend in all the colors of the trunk.  For the leaves I used the leaf brush and varied the size and colors to add dept.  I created my own brush to add the moss at the bottom of the trees.  I made it look soft and transparent.  For the sky i used the cloud rendering and created a motion effect.  I also added a light effect and gradient to look like moon light shinning through the trees.  I decided to make a lake and have the forest reflect off it.  I used the cloud rendering and swirled it to make a ripple effect.  After that I flipped the top scene and matched the properties to the ripple effect. Lastly I pulled the corners of the lake layer for a persecutive view.

I chose to add myself into a Lord of the Rings battle scene because I love the movies and thought it would be fun and challenging.  First I uploaded both pictures to photoshop and cropped myself out.  I lowered the contrast to match the movie image and used the colon tool to add a uniform.  When both pictures were put in place, I smoothed the image and changed the coloring to make myself blend in better.

My vector project is based off a picture from my family trip to Hawaii.  I decided to use this picture as a reference photo because I like how the focus changes.  I used the pencil tool for the branches and the Crow's wing detail and I used the Mesh tool for the background and for the belly of the bird.  I made the branches and the bird very detailed so it looks like the cameras is focused on it.  I decided to change the bird breeds because I wanted more movement and action in the image.

Alfred is a famous Tiger merman who loves to sing and drink martinis.  I used a secondary color scheme with complementary colors such as orange and blue to make the colors look brighter.  I also texturized the seaweed, sand and coral to give the objects a more realistic look.

Trying to decide between these new logo designs

This is a logo for Viva Views Cinema logo.  It's a chain of holographic movie theaters.  All age groups of movie goers are my target audience.  For my logo I wanted to make the font took futuristic and modern.    The stretched circle design also gives it a fast motion feel.  I used black text to make the logo pop out and look very visible when shrunken down.  The teal color makes it took very technology based but also brings a friendly approach.   Looking at other movie theater logos, the designer kept it simple and mostly used text.
